My teaching philosophy is to create an open- ended environment, that allows children to develop skills through activities, group work, fun and active participation.
my goal for teaching is to provide children with a space where they feel comfortable enough to experiment and make mistakes. I want children to reach their full potential in my class. I will provide opportunities, support and feedback to assist children in their learning development. I have practiced and used a variety of adult- child interaction strategies and they are very useful in harbouring a child's learning. I will plan a variety of activities that are both open- ended and connect to the child's lived experiences. Through my placement I have noticed that the children gravitate towards me, and are excited to see me and sad when I have to leave. This example demonstrates that I get along well with children and I will do everything in my power to be a positive role model for them. I want the children to have enough trust and respect in our relationships to come to me for guidance and assistance. I want the children to look back on the time I spent in their classroom and remember me as an important adult figure in their life. I hope to further my growth as an educator and to learn what works best for each child.
Reading is not only my hobby, but my passion. Through reading I learn many different things, that allow me to look at both sides to each situation. A lot of the chapters are written from a characters point of view, this will allow me to help solve conflicts between children. I am able to understand why each child might be upset, and understand what each child is thinking or feeling at that moment.
